1. TwitterSnooze
TwitterSnooze allows you to temporarily unfollow people you follow on twitter.
Why would you want to use TwitterSnooze? If someone is temporarily going insane over a topic on twitter by sending loads of tweets on something you’re not interested, you could TwitterSnooze ‘em.
You can also skip groups of folks who are tweeting about a conference for a day or two or three.

2. microping [dot] me
In their own words:
Simple, once you have created an account and supplied the details required, Microping [dot] me gives you a url to use. You use the url by adding it to your blogs update services list and this will connect your blog to Microping [dot] me. Once you have added the microping [dot] me url to your blog everytime you make a post or update a post then it will show instantly in your twitter stream.
Update: microping [dot] me is no longer available.
3. Twitterfall
Twitterfall is pretty darn cool. It shows a dynamic list of tweets on what’s trending on twitter. You can control the speed of the tweets that roll down the page as well as other settings. How they explain themselves:
Twitterfall is a way of viewing the latest ‘tweets’ of upcoming trends on the micro-blogging site Twitter. Updates fall from the top of the page in near-realtime.

4. Cursebird
Cursebird’s tag line is – Who the f#@! is everyone swearing about?
Cursebird is a real-time feed of people swearing on twitter. Check it out or check out people you know who’s using potty mouth.

5. TweetEffect
TweetEffect’s tag line and about:
Find out which of your Twitter updates made people follow or leave you. Simply enter your Twitter ID in the following form.
Enter your twitter name and we analyze your 200 latest updates and flag those up that made people follow or leave you.
Of course there are more factors that make people come or go, but it is an interesting indicator about the effect your tweet might have had on the world.
