Using the Social Web to Find Work

January 2, 2009 in Social Media

Chris Brogan at chrisbrogan.com has released a free ebook called Using the Social Web to Find Work.  This is a great resource for how to use the social networking sites to help find work as well as starting a blog as your resume.

I’ll be implementing some of the things Chris talks about as I grow this blog out.  Chris shares his views with practical examples on how to use LinkedIn, a popular networking site for professional relationships.

Chris talks about starting a shared spreadsheet using Google Docs to build your network.

He also talks about how folks who have lost their jobs are all out there looking for the same thing.  In a way, the office of people you were just in are all out there online.  There might not be a director to pull everyone together but you can by taking some of the information in this ebook and putting it to practice.

There’s plenty there to help get you started right in the online world using social networking.
