In a racial gerrymandering move, Alabama defies a Supreme Court order to create a primarily black secondary congressional district. That is not new.
What is new is that they hired some legal help to assist them with their challenge.
Who’s Willing To Rehear The Case?
They’re working on some inside intel that Brett Kavanaugh is willing to rehear the case as a constitutional challenge to Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.
Now, why is that particular tidbit of inside intel important? One of the attorneys the Alabama Attorney General’s office works with is Edmund LaCour.
Edmund LeCour is a Federalist Society contributor. He is a very close ally of Leonard Leo.
However, Edmund LeCour’s wife served on the confirmation team for the Justice Department, and who did they confirm? Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.
How They’re Trying To Get Around It
The state of Alabama is also working with the same attorney group, Consovoy-McCarthy, representing the students for fair action. They were able to win their case concerning affirmative action.
And now they’re using the concurring statements by Brett Kavanaugh as a basis for their challenge to the redistricting.
The reference of concurring opinion by Kavanaugh that questioned of whether race-based redistricting can extend indefinitely. Racial gerrymandering.
Remember that the Supreme Court overturned affirmative action. They now argue that the state’s use of a race-predominant map violates the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause.
Supporting Their Argument
They are using Justice Kavanaugh’s comments from the affirmative action case to support their argument. Same attorneys, same Leonard Leo group.
So when it seems like it’s all connected and perfectly timed, it is.
Understand, that there is a billion dollar dark money legal group that has taken hold of our judicial system.
They are overturning laws, and they are taking away our rights systemically.
This is only part of how Republicans are cheating and moving to reelect a republican president in 2024.
They have to cheat because the majority of Americans disagree with Republican policies.
The lawlessness from the Supreme Court ensues.
