Here are the 14 characteristics of fascism as it applies to the American republican party today.
One: Powerful and Continuing Nationalism. A cornerstone of the right wing.
Two: Disdain for Human Rights. A cornerstone of the right wing.
Three: Identification of Enemies as a Unifying Cause. Trump used to point at the press and tell them they were the enemy of the people. A defining characteristic of the right.
Four: Supremacy of the Military. A defining characteristic of the right.
Five: Rampant sexism. A defining characteristic of the right.
Six: Controlled Mass Media. Who was trying to jail reporters and shut down social media? Another defining characteristic of the right.
Seven: Obsession with National Security. Another defining characteristic of the right.
Eight: Religion and Government Intertwined. Another defining characteristic of the right.
Nine: Corporate Power Protected. This happens on both sides. Democrats do their fair share of protecting corporate power. Republicans, however, have made it an art form.
Ten: Labor Power Suppressed. A defining characteristic of the right.
Eleven: Disdain for Intellectuals in the Arts. Who keeps telling you colleges are indoctrination camps and which president wouldn’t go to the Kennedy Center Honors, for example? Another defining characteristic of the right.
Twelve: Obsession with Crime and Punishment. The law and order party. Another defining characteristic of the right.
Thirteen: Rampant Cronyism and Corruption. You get this from both sides. Trump made an art form out of it. Another defining characteristic of the right.
Fourteen: Fraudulent Elections. Who (Trump) was caught on an audio recording asking a state-level elected official to find the requisite number of votes for him to win? How about Kari Lake during the 2022 midterms? The Republican party has made an art form and has a massive following who believe this.
