A new pledge from a speech given by Congressman Maxwell Frost:
This is about all of us. Please put your hand over your heart and repeat after me.
I pledge that I will be civically engaged to fight for a better world.
That I see joy as an essential part of our struggle.
That I see joy that I will fight fight for equity in every space that I am in.
That I will see the humanity in those I disagree with.
That I will not shame apathy, but rather inspire hope.
That I will care for my neighbor as my family.
And that I will always lead with love.
Because if you love somebody, you want them to have health care. If you love somebody, you want them to have affordable housing, food on the table, a good quality education, and safety in their communities.
You want them to have the support, equity, and justice that they deserve.
