5 Writing Tools to Help You Write

Here are 5 writing tools that I use to help me with my writing as well as generating ideas.

One: ChatGPT for generating all kinds of ideas as well as rewriting sentences. At this time it’s free to use. It’s new to me and a lot of fun.

Two: Grammarly for sentence checking (free and paid). Grammarly has been my go-to writing helper that watches as I write and highlights corrections and makes suggestions. This also comes as a Chrome extension and I have it turned on all the time.

Three: QuillBot is an AI paraphrasing tool. There are free and paid options. It too has a chrome extension that I have installed but turned off. If I turn on more than one writing helper Chrome extension, I find that they run into each other as I type and they become a distraction vs. a helper. I do keep QuillBot’s website open in its own browser tab since it offers the ability to work with it directly on its website.

Four: Wordtune is a sentence rewriter that has a free editor on their website. I have their Chrome extension installed and turned off. I turn it on when I need it and want a different view of sentence rewriting.

Five: ProWritingAid is new to me and I just started playing with it. But I like it. Comes in free and paid options.

If you’re in need of some writing help, visit these tools’ websites, install their Chrome extensions, turn them on and off and see what each one does differently.

Hope that helps and have fun writing!
