Are We A Country That Fights FOR Racism?

Are we a country that fights FOR racism with more ferocity than we fight against racism?

We’re a country that sends police officers to block black people from crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge.

We’re a country where in 2022, police killed more people in the U.S. than any other year recorded. Where 1 in 3 people was killed by police running away, driving away, or trying to flee. And more black people were killed in 48 of the 50 largest cities in the country.

We’re a country where a Black Colorado rancher was arrested after domestic terrorism from locals.

We’re a country that makes our citizens fight for civil rights, not provide and protect civil rights.

Anti-racism is now and always has been the counterculture. Anti-racism is progressive. People talk about progressives negatively and yet pretend to be anti-racist.

There ain’t no such thing as a halfway crook. There ain’t no such thing as a halfway anti-racist. You’re either down for the cause and everything that means, or you’re not.

Some of the legislation in this country written by republicans and their backers indicate they want to tell our children fairy tales, sanitized versions of history. They want to continue lying to our children.

What needs to be done is to have hard conversations and come to a better understanding of human relations. There needs to be strong legislation that works FOR civil rights.

The counterculture has always stopped at the water’s edge and not pushed hard enough. They’re seduced by money and success to snap into line and become “good Americans.”
