There might be a temporary solution to the government shutdown. The October 1st, 2023 shutdown.
It’s essential to know and remember the Republican party’s intent so you know how to vote.
Here’s how the extreme right of the Republican party is holding everyone hostage.
Republicans Intent
Republicans will not agree on a budget because they hate the government and want to sabotage it in every way possible.
They hate Biden and want to sabotage him in every way they can.
And when it comes to you and me, what do you think Republicans think about us?
They say they will not pass a budget that doesn’t have 8% spending cuts, which is a non-starter. It’s terrible.
Shockingly, one-third of the deficit is due to Republican tax cuts under Bush, Reagan, and Trump.
That’s $10 trillion of our federal deficit is Republican tax cuts, which they do every time they get power.
And then every time they’re NOT in power, they return and say our deficit is too big.
Republicans Want To Cut
Republicans want to cut spending on programs that Americans care about. So that is what they’re doing again.
I don’t know how many times Americans will fall for this. It’s ridiculous.
Republicans could reverse Trump’s tax cuts to lower the deficit. But they’re trying to extend them to the rich and corporations.
So, knowing that, understand this is all total bull. This is posturing, nonsense, and sabotage of Biden and the Democrats.
Republicans Disregard Of The American People
It is an absolute disregard for the well-being of the American people.
Republicans want:
- Draconian measures at the border.
- To defund the DOJ completely.
- And maybe the FBI.
They will shut down the government if they don’t get what they want.
Don’t ever forget this. This is the Republican party’s intent.
What Will A Shutdown Mean?
A government shutdown means:
- A slowdown in the delivery of social security checks.
- Military and law enforcement will be forced to work without pay.
- As for disaster relief, a government shutdown will stick a knife in the side of FEMA.
- Ten thousand children will lose access to Head Start programs.
- Air traffic controllers and TSA officers will have to work with no pay. That will affect travel.
- Also, be careful what you eat because there won’t be any food safety inspections.
These consequences are going to be damaging.
Again, this is the Republican party. Even if there’s a temporary solution, it could happen again soon. It’s the intent.
Remember all this when you go to the voting booth in every election.
The truth of the matter is the Republicans cannot govern.
The Republican House leader cannot lead. And given what they want, they don’t care about you or me.
