Here’s what’s happening in America 2023 and why you should be concerned AND get involved with fighting back to the best of your ability. Everyone can do something and everyone has their limits. So acknowledge yours and ultimately take care of yourself while doing any political activist work as it can get overwhelming for some folks.
Yes, both the democratic party and the republican party have issues, but there’s one party, the democrats, that wants to help the American people and move the country forward.
Then there’s the republican party that does NOT want to help the American people and NOT move the country forward. The republican party wants to regress it seems, in every way. The republican party of today wants to take away your rights and control your life.
So here’s just a sampling of how the republican party is doing the damage they are doing and why you need to vote for democrats to get out of this mess and move the country forward.
- The republican-led Supreme Court might overturn the Indian Child Welfare Act, which would allow native children to be taken away from their parents.
- South Carolina republican politicians and Texas republican politicians are calling for executions as a punishment for abortion.
- Tennessee republican politicians passed a bill gutting marriage equality for same-sex, interfaith, and interracial relationships.
- Florida republican politicians have introduced a bill codifying gender-affirming health care as abuse and allowing trans children to be removed from their parents.
- Tennessee republican politicians banned drag and gender-affirming health care for minors.
- Mississippi republican politicians brought back Jim Crow laws which allow segregation of all white towns, police forces, and government.
- Arkansas republican politicians passed laws to make child labor easier.
- A Tennessee republican called for lynchings to be brought back.
- Republican politicians from several states are calling for trans-genocide. We are in stage seven of genocide.
- Antisemitic hate crimes are on the rise.
- Cop City in Atlanta exists.
- Books are being mass banned in schools, and the government is trying to control education.
I don’t provide all the links to these since they’ve become mainstream actions that republicans are doing and easily searchable on the web written by major news outlets.
Now here’s the deal. Some of these bills might not move forward as is. But it’s the republicans’ intent that is important. This is just some of what they want to do to you and your family.
The American people are living in a fascist regime. Get involved in whatever way you can to fight this. STOP VOTING FOR REPUBLICANS. They do not want to help you. They are backed by rich white evangelical christian nationalists. These people are making a mockery of the word Christianity. What they are trying to do has nothing to do with Christianity and everything to do with controlling you.
