Public Schools Are Under Attack

Our public schools are under attack. No matter where you live in America, the time is now to educate, organize, and mobilize.

No matter where you live in the United States, the horrendous bills that are being passed in Florida, Texas, and many other states CAN happen in every state. Even if you live in a state where you think, “This can’t happen here, it will never happen in my state.” It can and it will.

It’s happening because too many of us have let it happen. We wouldn’t be in this situation with our democracy constantly under attack if more of us for the last several decades had done our part to get involved in participatory democracy.

Educate, Organize, and Mobilize

Start with public schools. Make them your number one issue.

Depending on where you live in America, there are a number of other issues that are front and center right now, but make public school your issue.

Other people already have. Groups like Moms for Liberty. They’ve organized across this country, and they’re taking control of school boards, and they’re using public education as their issue to bring in other issues. They’re using public education and accusing teachers of indoctrination, grooming, and teaching our students to hate America. This is reprehensible.

The Pivotal Role Public Schools Have In Shaping American Society
  1. Democratization of Knowledge: Public education in the United States, founded on the idea of providing free, universal access to schooling, aims to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has an opportunity to learn and acquire knowledge. This democratization of education plays a key role in fostering equality and social mobility.
  2. Citizenship and Civic Responsibility: Public schools play an integral role in fostering civic responsibility among students. They’re often the place where students first learn about democratic values, rights, and responsibilities. Schools are also where students learn about the workings of the government and their role in it as citizens.
  3. Economic Development: Public education is an essential contributor to the nation’s economic development. It provides the workforce with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform various roles across different industries. An educated workforce is crucial for the country’s competitiveness in a global economy.
  4. Socialization: Schools are also vital in the socialization process of young people. They help students develop social skills, learn about societal norms, and shape their cultural understanding.

Wherever you live, don’t wait. Educate, organize, and mobilize. Our children are watching.
