With all the text messages coming out about lawmakers attempting a coup, literally encouraging a coup, and elected officials being sworn to defend the Constitution, it begs the question, is a coup really illegal?
President Biden is in a pickle. If he can’t get his Justice Department to hold these people accountable, all of them for attempting a coup, then I’m not sure why he would ever leave office. If no one is accountable under the law, there is no law. I am not a lawyer.
If a coup is legal, and I know it’s not, and the only thing preventing a coup from the next Republican president is their competency and whether they succeed in their own coup or not, then why would we submit to an electoral system when democrats have the presidency?
Joe Biden either needs to hold all of these people accountable and send a message that you can’t actually try a coup in this country. And if he can’t do that, he should never leave office. Declare martial law until the country is stable. T-Rump gave us the blueprint for that. Update it so it works. The rule of law is losing credibility. Other countries are watching.
