The Human Rights Campaign declares a state of emergency for LGBTQ+ people in the United States. Saying:

For the first time in our four decade history, the Human Rights Campaign has declared a national state of emergency for the LGBTQ+ community. Alongside the emergency declaration, we released a digital guidebook, which includes:

  • Health and safety resources.
  • A summary of state-by-state laws.
  • Know your rights information.
  • Resources designed to support LGBTQ+ travelers and those living in hostile states.

This guidebook gives a rundown of:

  • State-by-state anti-LGBTQ+ policies.
  • LGBTQ+ protections.
  • Resources for financing a move and determining access to healthcare.
  • Information for filing complaints for violation of civil rights laws.
  • How to engage in local advocacy opposing anti-LGBTQ+ efforts.
  • How to navigate tough conversations about anti-LGBTQ+ hate with friends and family.

We want to empower LGBTQ+ people to protect themselves and fight back. Please help share this information with all those who need it. And allies, we need you now more than ever to join us in this fight on the front lines. Know that LGBTQ+ people nationwide will not be erased. Now now. Not ever.

Keep fighting for our LGBTQ+ community!
