American Culture: What To Think, Not How To Think

Photo of a dark road in an article about American culture.

American culture. America’s biggest threat is a culture that has been taught what to think instead of how to think. And, of course, Americans have been taught all the wrong things. It’s almost better to know nothing than to be convinced of everything wrong.

Yet here we sit as a culture in shambles because so many of our fellow citizens believe all the wrong things. For example, Iowa voters recently blamed Mike Pence for not doing anything no vice president has ever done in the history of this country. Follow through on a coup plan by the president. We have Joe Biden as president because of the Constitution they claim to love and the will of the American people. Have they forgotten other people other than themselves exist?

This Is What Happens In A Cult

The narcissistic cult leader sets reality, and the cult members fall in line. The people who believe the most outrageous lies are looked at as the best cult members. They have the most faith. The cult becomes stupid. The cult becomes an ill-defined form of Christianity. The cult is conservatism. The cult is American exceptionalism.

The cult is anything that will refuse to look critically at reality and instead rest in children’s stories and safety blankets. But if your safety blanket can be lit on fire by a fourth grader’s version of the truth, then it’s not doing its job.

The people in the cult are so lost in the delusions of a narcissistic madman that it’s unbearable. Watching these people question Mike Pence. They’re mad that Mike Pence followed the Constitution, and they love the Constitution. Everything should go according to the Constitution except Mike Pence and the peaceful transfer of power.

This is “Break Glass In Case Of Emergency.” These people are so down the rabbit hole that there’s almost no coming back. The people are so lost. We must keep on keeping on.
