Know Who’s Running For Your School Boards

Republican extremists are trying to take over school boards. They want to take over school boards and teach children one religion, Christianity only and place a poster of the ten commandments in every classroom. They want to ban books and make sure kids know that boys are boys and girls are girls, and what their place is and should be in the world.

If you ever wanted to do something about that, now’s the time. Become aware of your school board and who’s on them. Know when school board elections are held.

Republicans are going hard for these positions because some school boards are nonpartisan. School boards should be nonpartisan to serve all families. Republicans want school boards partisan and are pouring a lot of money into winning these school board elections.

How can you tell if you’ve got an extremist that might be running for your school board?

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Visit a candidate’s website to find out what they’re saying.
  2. Find their social media accounts and see what they’ve been saying and who’s been responding to them.
  3. Find out who might be paying for any pamphlets or advertisements that you’ve been seeing.
  4. Do a Google search for news about a candidate in your county.
  5. Use Ballotpedia’s School Board Elections page where you can view elections by state.
