Have you heard of Project 2025? It’s an initiative by extremist Christians to take control of the federal government and deconstruct all sectors. Remember the Seven Mountain Mandate?
This article from the New York Times talks about Project 2025, an initiative of the Heritage Foundation. You can go to the Heritage Foundation website and find articles that show that they’re not only advocating for Christian nationalism, they are doubling down on the call for Christian nationalism to dominate the US government (see #1 under Other Sources at the end of this article). Think dominion theology.
There are many layers to Project 2025, but one initiative focuses on the presidential election. When a Republican president takes office in 2025, they want to have queued up as many political appointees who have already been vetted and ready to be put into positions of power.
Why are they doing this?
Because of the horrible staffing decisions made by Trump and his cabinet, they think that hindered their progress and impacted them in the 2020 election. Getting those positions filled quicker means that all of the policies that they want to implement will be enacted quicker.
On their website, you’ll find all the organizations that have come together to support Project 2025. This includes Liberty University and Moms for Liberty. Liberty University is your Southern Baptist connection, which takes you back to Jerry Falwell.
The article shows that the origin of the religious right had everything to do with segregation and privatizing schools exclusive to white students.
Jerry Falwell is your roadmap to Ronald Reagan, Mitch McConnell, and the birth of extremist Christian nationalism. And, of course, Moms for Liberty has been labeled a hate group because of their opposition to Critical Race Theory and their support for Trump and his policies.
On the Project 2025 website, you can apply to their presidential academy, which looks like a training center. And here’s one question: “Do you agree the federal government should recognize only two unchanging sexes, male and female, as a matter of policy?” You can imagine that if you disagree, you’re not going to make the academy.
According to an article in The Guardian, the main focus of Project 2025 is to dismantle US climate policy.
Project 2025 1,000 Page Transition Guide
It’s clear from their guide that they plan to deconstruct all federal government sectors and environmental policies. See #2 under Other Resources at the end of this article.
This should be alarming for all of us because the extremist Christians are working cohesively together, and they are working very aggressively.
At this time, I don’t think Democrats have anything I’m aware of that matches this aggressive initiative. If we did, it would be to secure the democracy that fights all issues that Christian nationalists are bringing to destroy America and take away your rights.
It’s time for us to ensure that we’re all connected in some way, shape, or form to ensure a Democrat, Joe Biden, wins the 2024 presidency. I don’t think there’s time to vet someone new. There’s too much at stake.
Project 2025 is an extremist Christian initiative that is being run by people who support Christian nationalism, who believe in Dominion Theology, and who are working on the Seven Mountain Mandate.
We must come together with a similar initiative to push back on this toxic theology and this racist, homophobic, xenophobic initiative because it’s long overdue. This stuff is scary. Stay awake. Get involved and do whatever you can to fight back.
