Republican Speaker Of The House Voted Out

Kevin McCarthy, the Republican speaker of the House of Representatives, the people’s house, voted out of that position for the first time in American history.

It’s hard to believe what we’re witnessing. Of course we can because we’ve all been witnessing it. We’ve all been living through it.

We’re witnessing a small minority of Republicans in Congress who say they believe in a deep state.

They believe the 2020 presidential election was stolen. And that teachers try to indoctrinate, groom, or sexualize students.

They say all those things because, sadly and devastatingly, millions of our fellow citizens support them. Millions of our fellow citizens believe those things.

What About The Moderate Republicans?

What about all the moderate Republicans who don’t? Where have they been?

After Donald Trump attempted to overturn the results of our presidential election and then incited an insurrection to make that happen, Kevin McCarthy, The Speaker of the House, denounced Donald Trump.

But then, two weeks later, he reneged. He was back down at Mar-a-Lago. He was pacifying Trump, and they were mapping out a two-year plan to elevate Trump back to the White House.

So all those moderate Republicans who know none of those things are true have remained silent.

And what have we learned from history in Germany, Italy, and Japan? What have we learned about silence and complicity?

Well, it can result in some pretty horrendous things.

That’s Exactly What Donald Trump Has Planned

Donald Trump hopes that you will lose faith in our political system.

And out of the chaos that he’s helping to create, he will provide order. He will provide stability.

Because that’s what all autocrats, that’s what all wannabe dictators do.

We have seen this before. So, we must remain committed. We must believe in our democracy by walking the talk every day.

We must vote for Democrats in every election to ensure we maintain democracy. And we must ensure that who we are voting in are indeed Democrats.

Remain true. Remain strong. And know that we always have each other’s back.
