Running For President While Being A Criminal

In an article about running for president, this photo is of the U.S. White House.

Donald Trump is running for president again, even after trying to overturn our last presidential election results.

Every day that the media runs stories about him on the campaign trail is another day they’re legitimizing him. They’re normalizing him. And to normalize the behavior of a man who tried to overturn the results of our presidential election undermines our democracy.

So here’s what you need to do. We all know he should never again be allowed to hold political office in the United States. Or anywhere. He rendered himself disqualified. But unfortunately, there’s no law against it. He can still run for president after all he’s done.

So make this commitment when you’re in a conversation with anybody if his name comes up. Make one thing clear right off the bat. He tried to overturn the results of our presidential election and then incited an insurrection to make that happen. There’s proof, including the people who went to prison for him.

Everyone should be doing this. Tweet to CNN. Send a message to MSNBC. Contact Fox News. Talk to NBC. Email or Tweet your local media editors. Make media outlets aware that what they ought to do is every single time they air his name, whether it’s following a campaign rally or some crazy thing he said, and they should put a disclaimer on the screen that makes it clear that this guy tried to overturn the results of our last presidential election and some of our fellow citizens went to prison for it.

We know what we’re up against. Donald Trump is running for president again, even though he should never be allowed to have that privilege.
