The Ultimate Cult: Politics And Christianity

An photo of the word cult in an article about is christianity a cult.

For some, Christianity brings peace. For others, Christianity is a cult. And for some, all religions are cults. Mixed with politics, you get what’s happening today in the United States.

The only thing that separates religions from cults is they’ve existed for a long time, and have political power, legitimacy, and scale. Because they’re so big, they’re not considered a cult. They’re the most successful cult in the history of time.

Christianity happens to be a very successful cult that’s taken over the world. It’s a cult of colonization that’s colonized hearts, minds, and land, and committed genocide on multiple continents.

When we think about cults, Christianity has its strongman leader. Its version of god is an authoritarian leader, who dictates what’s good and what’s bad. And that god dispenses judgment from on high, just like a cult leader. It’s got its own kind of system of rules and its own language. It’s got in-grouping and out-grouping.

Controlling Information On Faith Alone

Anything that asks you to go on faith is basically a cult because it’s controlling information.

If you have ideologies based on faith, that means the people who believe the craziest things are actually the best members of the cult. Because I’m so devoted to this cult, I’ll believe literally anything and we’ll call it faith, not delusion, not brainwashing, not mental illness, but faith. And faith, in spite of overwhelming evidence, isn’t faith at all.

Christianity, and especially Christianity and politics mixed, is a shared, delusional ideology of faith, where science is a threat, truth is a threat, and facts are threats. It’s feelings over facts. There’s control over what are and aren’t facts.

Think of how you can’t actually debate religious people. They literally cannot participate in a debate because they have literally no facts on their side. And a fourth grader can defeat them just by saying, “Prove it.”
