Who’s Behind All This Horrible Legislation?

For decades, christian nationalist groups have been unknown. They are behind some of the horrible republican bills sweeping America.

Conservative federal judge Matthew Joseph Kacsmaryk in Texas single-handedly ruled a national ban on the abortion pill Mifepristone. One 40+-year-old white man did this and it affects everyone in America. Should one person have that kind of power? NO! This is part of the system that needs to be torn down.

Mifepristone is safe and effective. According to the FDA, it’s not only used for abortions but it’s also used to treat Cushing syndrome. So who would want to ban Mifepristone? Judge Kacsmaryk sided with the plaintiff. A group called Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF). The ADF is behind the anti-LGBTQ, anti-trans, and anti-women/girls bills passed in republican-led states.

The ADF is the world’s largest legal organization committed to protecting religious freedom. But it’s not religious freedom. It’s disguised as religious freedom. It’s white christian supremacy. They are one of the largest and most organized influential christian groups in the country. They were co-founded by James Dobson, who also founded Focus on the Family. Some of their focus is opposition to abortion and same-sex marriage.

They want christianity in the U.S. legal system, including prayer, displaying crosses, and the ten commandments.

The Alliance Defending Freedom:

  • Opposes homosexuality. They want to make it a crime.
  • Opposes same-sex marriage
  • Opposes civil unions
  • Opposes adoptions by same-sex couples.
  • Opposes adoption by Jewish people.
  • Opposes abortion.
  • Wants to ban interfaith marriages.
  • Wants to ban interracial marriages.

The ADF has a legal training program. It prepares christian law students for professional legal careers and the Supreme Court. People associated with the ADF include:

  • Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett
  • Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
  • Texas Senator Ted Cruz
  • Texas Governor Greg Abbott
  • Disgraced President Donald Trump

Anywhere you see hateful bills that strip Americans of their rights, the ADF is behind them. And let’s be clear, these bills will unalive people including our trans brothers and sisters as well as women, girls, and the babies they are trying to save. Politicians and their god cannot save babies, well-trained physicians do. But they are after that too, discrediting science and people in the medical field who try to help save lives every day.

A recent bill by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, HB 999, could ban not only Jewish studies but based on the vagueness of the bill could ban a lot more:

The bill bans courses “based on unproven, theoretical, or exploratory content,” leading critics to ask if that includes the theories explaining evolution, gravity, theoretical physics. It also would ban majors in studying under identity or women’s history, as well as derivative majors from these ideas.

Again, ADF’s goal is to turn America into a Christian theocracy. And right now, they are winning.
