Dictatorship: Why Would People Want To Live Under One?

In an article about dictatorship, this is a photo of a woman holding a sign that says, "We Demand Democracy,"

People who are racist would rather live under a dictatorship of their choosing than ever have a black president again.

The dominant culture would rather have a strongman leader. A dictator of their choosing. They don’t want a system that is unacceptable to them.

They would rather have a white dictator, a champion of whiteness of their choosing, to control the other side than submit to democracy.

Why would people want to live under a dictatorship? Because they get to choose the dictator. The dictator is their dictator. Their dictator punishes their enemies. It makes them think that they are in the in-group.

It’s human behavior.

Strongman leaders arise in times of transition and change of fear. Saying only I can solve it. I’m going to make America great again.

The dictator preys on the fears of the culture. Seeing their cultural power diminishing.

It’s people trying to protect their privilege. It’s that simple.

Why would somebody want to fill a pool with concrete? Answer: When they’re asked to share that space with minorities.

It’s history repeating itself.

It happened in Germany. It happened in Rome, the fall of the Republic turning to Caesar.

A strongman who preys on people’s differences and pretends he’s the only one who can save us.

People are conditioned for dictatorships in a lot of areas of life. God is a dictator. The boss is a dictator. The corporate structure is the most authoritarian structure ever created.

It’s in our cultural conditioning to submit to a strongman leader.

Don’t let it happen. Wake up. Stay awake. Get loud. Get active.
