Republicans: Standing On The Necks Of The American People

“Why bash Republicans but not the Democrats? There’s plenty to bash Democrats about too.”

Agreed.

But here’s why we have to continue going after the Republican party and their white, evangelical cultural Christian billionaire backers. It’s because they are an existential threat to our country. Democrats are not. Republicans are a poison and a malignant cancer on our country.

“Well, that’s just partisan talk.” No, it’s not. And here’s why.

Republicans crash and burn everything that we care about and have done so for decades.

People say:

  • The Republican party, they know what they’re doing.
  • The Republican party they’re good on the economy.
  • The Republican party they’re right about wars.
  • The Republican party they’re right to fund the military.
  • The Republican party they’re right that climate change doesn’t exist.
  • The Republican party they’re right that guns should be unfettered.

The Republican party has destroyed the United States. Which, by the way, include the people in their own families. And they don’t seem to care.

Forty-five thousand people are dying a year in the United States from gun violence. And the Republicans just passed another bill on the federal level to make it easier to access assault weapons.

Republicans attack Social Security and Medicare every year.

Tax Cuts for the Wealthy and Corporations

Republicans scream and yell about the federal debt, but they are currently trying to pass a five trillion dollar tax cut for wealthy people and corporations.

Republicans want to pay for that tax cut by getting rid of the green energy credits that are the only thing our country is doing right now about an existential crisis that Republicans say doesn’t even exist. Because they want to keep making money from oil and gas. How awful do you have to be to put your short-term interests in front of the survival of the human race? Including the children, grandchildren, and future generations of your own family.

How can you not bash that?

Democrats are NOT Doing That

Yes, there are individual Democrats who are not good, specifically two of them.

But Democrats are not a threat to the United States or our democracy.

Democrats are not trying to suppress the vote like Republicans are.

Democrats are not banning books.

Democrats are not attacking LGBTQ people forcing people to make the decision to leave their states to feel more secure.

Democrats are not cruel, again, except for perhaps two of them.

Cruelty is the brand of the Republican party. Mean-spirited, lying, and fearmongering are also part of their brand.

How can anyone support a party like that?

There might have been a time in the past when Republicans were a party that would reason somewhat. But what they have become is MAGA fascism. We’ve got to stop pretending that both parties are the same. One is a party we can criticize (democrats), and one is a danger to the people living in the United States, including their own family members.
